FrieslandCampina extends contract with Unilever to produce Napoca ice cream until 2014 at Romanian factory

Dairy maker FrieslandCampina Romania has extended the contract with Unilever Romania and will continue to produce the Napoca ice cream in its plant in Baciu, Cluj county, at least until end-2014, the company has recently announced.

“The FrieslandCampina plant in Baciu has the expertise to produce Napoca, a brand with tradition in Romania. Our plant in Baciu produces 45 flavors of Napoca ice cream,” said Jozsef Szasz, Supply Chain Director FrieslandCampina Romania.
In 2009, the dairy company decided to sell the ice cream business under the Napoca brand to Unilever. However, FrieslandCampina Romania continued to manufacture the ice cream products for Unilever at their plant in Cluj.
