The first Turkish bank in Serbia yesterday opened its office at Terazije Square in Belgrade through its branch office in FYR Macedonia. Halkbank, the seventh largest bank in Turkey, is a bank with the largest growth rate in Europe since 2008.
As Halkbank CEO Syleiman Aslan said at the opening ceremony in downtown Belgrade, this bank has a capital of USD 65 billion.
- Halkbank has a growth strategy for the Balkans, and it already has a network of 27 offices in FYR Macedonia - Aslan said and added that the opening of an office in Belgrade showed that that financial institution believed in the progress of Serbia's economy.
As the bank announced, Halkbank AD Skopje has decided to take the first step towards its regional expansion by opening an office in the Serbian market, considering that Serbia represents a key point in the future strategy of Halkbank.
Halkbank ranks fourth in the number of offices, of which there are 586 across the country, and seventh in the value of assets in Turkey.
