Crisis shakes the telecommunications sector in Montenegro
Largest telecommunications companies', Montenegrin Telecom and Telenor Montenegro, income declined last year, writes portal Business plus.
The current financial and economic crisis goes deep through the Montenegrin economy. Data show that the most stable sector, telecommunications, last year was shaken.
According to the Business Plus, the largest telecommunications companies', Montenegrin Telecom (member of Deutsche Telekom) and Telenor Montenegro, last year's income dropped.
Montenegrin Telecom's revenues for the nine months last year fell by 3.1% compared to the same period in 2011 to 86.9 million, and Telenor in the 2012 6% to 17.2 million.
Montenegrin Telecom explained that the revenue decline is a consequence of the fall of interconnection and retail voice services, as well as tourists.
